AMEB introduced this new option of exam called "repertoire" exam. Repertoire examination is the exam where students need to play the pieces, with NO general knowledge, Aural test, sight-reading, technical works, scales.
what's the difference with old exam and this repertoire exam? - for this repertoire exam, we can only use new syllabuses (2019) - Level 1 (preliminary to Grade 4): requires to perform 4 pieces (3 from lists +1 own choice pieces) - Level 2 (Grade 5 to Grade 8): requires to perform 5 pieces (3 from lists+ 2 own choice pieces) - Own choice piece is different from extra list, it is included in the assessment, which means, we need to prepare it as same standard as other exam pieces. - There is prerequisite for Level 2 (Grade 5 to Grade 8): students must achieve a Pass from Theory exam or Music Craft exam.
